Three Performance

SPANISH IS ALIVE!

The show carry your students into a magical and unforgettable world of arts, culture and enjoyment! We create a wonderful and interactive performances by combining storytelling and Latin American dances: meringue, salsa, Canavalito and  Cha Cha, giving students and teachers the opportunity to explore, appreciate, and enjoy  Latin America's arts, culture and language. We use good sense of humor, creativity and liveliness to transport students and teachers on a cultural journey.

Arts and Folklore from the Andes

With multicolored costumes, authentic instruments, props, energetic music and dance form the Andes( Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador), the performance that Include five different dances, explore the richly of a culture that has evolved for hundred years of native life and foreign influence. The show is motivational, exhilarating and engaging experience for the audiences.

Samba to Salsa

This exciting program celebrates the traditions of Latin and Brazilian percussion from the Caribbean and South America with a dynamic display of syncopated sounds and powerful rhythms. The objective is to leave the audience with a better understanding and appreciation for the depth and variety of the Latin and Brazilian percussion traditions such as salsa, merengue, samba, and more, that keep us dancing.

The audience will be engaged in some collaborative ensemble exercises, as a means of exploring how these community-based traditions are played together.

 One Workshop

 

Latin Percussion

A hands-on percussion workshop exploring the origins of Latin music, Latin percussion instruments, rhythms, musical dynamics, and basic playing techniques. Focus is placed on Afro-Cuban, Brazilian rhythms, and their African origins. Instruments include congas, claves, bells, guiro, cajon (box drum), Brazilian percussion battery, and some of their easily “found object” counterparts

  Cost: $3,1 00.00 back to back $4,900 Plus Travel fees

Bambula - Los Vejigantes de Puerto Rico

This program is designed to show the mythological Vejigante as a picaresque figure in a musical interplay that challenges the traditional bomba drums (barrilles) of Puerto Rico. The Raíces Cultural Center ensemble is versed in the artistic and musical traditions of the Caribbean. Their performances are live interactive multimedia presentations, designed to integrate the audience, giving the participants the opportunity to interact with the performers.

The Caribbean's

The workshop is a panorama of Caribbean music and dance traveling through Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. These dances will enable the students to compare and contrast differences and similarities between music and Dance styles, Merengue , Salsa and Cha-cha

Four Performance

“Tambonito” drum and dance ensemble

Focuses on the African influence of music and dance in Cuba and Brazil. Highly interactive assembly program and styles included are Samba, Samba Reggae, Afoxé, Guiro, Bata, Iyesa, and Capoiera.

The Oricha Osain - Force of Nature -

This program explores the forces that deal with the earth through the Afro Cuban vehicles of drum, dance, song and storytelling. The Raíces Cultural Center ensemble is versed in the artistic and musical traditions of the Caribbean. Their performances are live interactive multimedia presentations, designed to integrate the audience, giving the participants the opportunity to interact with the performers.

Disappeared

A multimedia assembly about the Disappeared. Between 1973 and 1983 - In battles against political dissidents, the governments of Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Guatemala, and Nicaragua developed a strategy aimed not only at eliminating opposition but also at terrorizing the population at large

The Disappeared pose fundamental questions about human nature and the capability within each of us to commit unspeakable acts of terror--questions that resonate today, we continue to live in a world plagued by recurrences of crimes against humanity.

Tango and Culture

A  workshop that seeks to show the beauty and intensity of the Tango through it's dance, music, poetry, origins and relationship with Argentinean people and their culture. The Tango was developed in a melting pot of cultures that was Buenos Aires. It transmits the dramatics of the European immigrants, who left their countries and their lives to adopt a new one in South America.

A first step to booking an program with Creative Bridges Institute is to give us a call at (609)-895-2981 or email us at creativebridges@aol.com and let’s discuss how creative Bridges Institute can make a difference in your school/ University.

We pride ourselves on approaching each Institution and each educator as an individual.

Individual artists, performance ensembles and specific programs are available on a first-come first-served basis. In order to book the teaching artist or performer of your choice, please schedule early.

 

ADDITIONAL INFO:

Prior to the beginning of any program, Creative Bridges Institute must receive the check or a purchase order for the full amount of the scheduled program activities from the school. Confirmation of Engagement form, a contact of the staff member who should receive our invoice .

 

It is Creative Bridges Institute' policy that a teacher, school employee or other responsible adult representing the site must be present in the room or performance area at all times during the program. Artists have the right to refuse to conduct a program if an appropriate number of staff persons are not in attendance. Artists reserve the right not to perform if the audience size is above the maximum stated attendance for their specific program.

 

Programs cancelled by a school less than one week before the scheduled program date are subject to full payment. Should illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevent an artist or ensemble from coming to a school, Creative Bridges Institute will offer the school the option of rescheduling or using a substitute artist or ensemble, if possible.

 

If a school does not notify Creative Bridges Institute that a program has been cancelled, it will be charged for any artist who arrives at the school to teach or perform
